Decoration for fall and Thanksgiving

Hello readers!
It's been a fun summer, and so much to do,
decorating for the fall is one of my favorite things
to do. Last year I followed a great store in
the Chicago area called Linley designs.

I spent days and fingers burnt with a hot glue gun
and added bows, flowers, and acorns
to the tops of my homemade velvet pumpkins.

As I pulled out the boxes full of these pumpkins I
realized how much I really love fall. It just seems to bring
so much joy to my life. I just keep pulling more pumpkins
from the boxes, you know who could ask for cuter
pumpkins for your home!

The fireplace was built by my husband from a picture, he
created this look and we stucco-d the outside and faux painted
it to create the look. I added to the shelf my own watercolor
of trees in the fall, velvet pumpkins and wheat.

Our grey couch is covered in fall colored pillows. The embroidered
one with roses in the middle is from my mother's collection
of pillows that I inherited a few of them.

Our end tables are full of books, copper and silver pots,
candles and the embellished velvet pumpkins.
These have some feathers on them as well.

This picture is also from my mother's stash. One of the items
I picked from my parents home that I cherish and love.
Tales on Timp is painted by James Christensen.
I love to bring it out for the fall season. It also reminds me
of my mom and her love for his art.

The kitchen table is full with all the extra's I wasn't sure
what to do with. This just brings joy for me. I truly want to feel
fall everywhere, wooden circles, vinegar veggies in a huge
jar, and lots of velvet pumpkins!

The runner is from Guatemala.

My turkey was refurbished last year with spray paint,
and skill, trying to make it look antique. It took me a little bit
of work to get it at this look, but it turned out perfect!
He sits on my island this year.

This table setting is also on the island. Two place settings are
for Dana and I for the Thanksgiving season. I love white!
So when I saw these one year at Dillards I could not resist
purchasing them for Thanksgiving.

I love to use old cheese domes to keep food warm.
They work perfect on the plates, I use them all year long
for this reason. Dana does appreciate it when his food is
still warm when he comes late to breakfast.

The placemats are Ralph Lauren I purchased at TJ Maxx
as well as the wooden plates.

A close up on the kitchen table.

I embroidered this tablecloth a few years ago.
It was given to my mother with the thread about 20 years
ago, when I was going through boxes of her stuff after
she died, I found the tablecloth and all the thread.
My dad let me have it and it took two years to finish.
It is one of my greatest treasures.

This is the mantel, the black bearded wheat is so awesome.
I keep it stored for the fall every year.

This is the pantry door in the kitchen.
I always decorate it like a front door with a wreath
or something appropriate for the season.

I just shared my favorite fall spaces with you for this year.

Happy Fall Ya'all!!

Robin
