I wondered if I would have time to get anything out for
Valentines Day in time to share with you on the blog.
I needed to go to Montana to help with grandchildren,
as both parents were going out of town for their jobs. I
hurried and put this together.
The pictures aren't the best, but I did get some things out
so I could write. Believe me, I will share with you my adventure
in Montana in a few weeks.
An adventure for sure.
My amaryllis bloomed late, I wanted it to bloom for Christmas,
but alas, it bloomed on Christmas Eve, so could not
use it in the decor. But stayed bloomed for me to watercolor it
after New Years. I'll share that later on.
It was to beautiful I decided to use it for Valentines.
All was not lost, Valentines is red too.
Our Refined Farmhouse |
I decided to go with some fun colors this year for my table setting.
I used a taffeta plaid piece of fabric with red, green, peach and
cream, a touch of pink too.
My dishes are so pretty!
Charger plate is silver from my mother's collection.
All three plates are from Mary Carroll collection. She is a designer
from Kansas if you haven't heard of her. Love her style!
I used gold silverware given to me from a very special friend last year.
(She said I would use it more than she ever would.)
Pink goblet, pink damask tablecloth under the plaid and pink
damask napkins that match the tablecloth.
These are also from the collection I received from my mother after she died.
Such a lovely setting!
Do you want to come for dinner?
The gold on the plates are such a beautiful filigree.
In our room across from the table are other element of the room.
My favorite is the wood piece hanging on the shutter.
My husband brought it home to me after he had gone camping with our boys.
I have been in love with it ever since. It really just hung in the
laundry room for years, until last year when I rediscovered it and hung
it in this room as part of my Valentines decor.
It has stayed there ever since!
A few years ago, my daughter sent me this cute house cake pan.
It came to me when we were in Georgia flipping houses, and stayed
there with our kids, because it was a bit heavy for the suitcase.
But last year it came home to Utah, when our kids moved
close, and as I was starting to pack it way with the Christmas
boxes, I thought, cute house for Valentines!
It really is!!!
I can't remember when I found this cute winter dressed girl,
I'm sure she was originally for the Christmas decor years ago.
I just cannot seem to part with her, because she has a
Utah winter written all over her!
I bring her out every year for Valentines day, and she
stays with me until winter is over.
Isn't she adorable!
I love my pillows!
The red floral pillows are Ralph Lauren.
Fell in love with them years ago, and they usually live
in the camp trailer. But I like to take them out and
use them in the bedrooms for the holidays.
Christmas and Valentines they become a part of
our home.
This is one of our outdoor lounge chairs that I now use in the
sun room. Very relaxing to come and lay in here and enjoy
the snow while we bask in the warmth of the sun room.
White settee with another cake pan, this time mini houses.
My red decorated tree, and angels.
More red floral pillows.
Don't forget, we were here for dinner!
And afterwards, we can sit in the warmth of the sun room.
Enjoying the snow.
Visiting about our love and admiration for our
friends and family.
Of course, a celebration of our love for each other!
Happy Valentines Day!
Robin
