I've been thinking about this for a long time.
Does Farmhouse have to be all White?
or Grey?
As I have been researching the internet on Farmhouse style,
I have found that no, it does not have to be white.
It seems that most of what we are seeing is white,
Do you have kids in your house?
A white couch? Yikes!!!!
Today's pictures will feature other ways to decorate your
home that do not feature white furniture or white walls. and yet
it will show Farmhouse elegance and let
you see how a Refined Farmhouse is many colors,
not just white.
Even Joanna Gains has a line of paint that is not white.
Here is a dining room from the Urban Farmhouse Design.
I want to go there so bad!
They show the best ways to decorate Farmhouse style and yet the
style is so practical.
Yes, the chairs here are in white, but the walls are brick, with a
whitewash on them. Not all white. The gorgeous table is not white but natural.
The floors stained cement, and yes, it is so Refined!
Here an island for your kitchen, chairs are grey, table a natural with a wash
on it, and the walls are not white. Natural is everywhere in this picture.
I love the posts, tin! At least I think it is tin.
The accents are white, and you feel so much safer with children
sitting on these chairs! They won't stain!
Of course, wood would be more practical, but they are not white.
Again, not white walls!
No white furniture!
Yet elegant and sophisticated!
Here are two dark chairs, no white walls!
Look here a brown leather couch!
In this Urban Farmhouse living room.
No white anywhere!
Metal, glass, wood. This is the look.
You can create an amazing Farmhouse look with a
touch of white and a whole lot of other
darker colors.
This will make your home more kid-friendly!
Now of course if there are no kidos in the picture it is great to have
white in all your farmhouse look.
I just wanted to share that you can have the Refined
Farmhouse look without all the white.
Thanks to the Urban Farmhouse Designs for their pictures
of their showroom.
Someday I will go there, just to see these fabulous designs in person!
They have a fabulous story to share!
Enjoy!
What do you think?
Does Farmhouse need to be white?
Robin
I don't think it should be all white personally. That's boring in my opinion. I love the warmth I see in these photos. Love it!!
